Mark Leone
EA, CFS

Mark Leone walks into a room and within minutes, his calming effect is felt throughout the entire place.  His humor, strong sense of responsibility, and personality attract people to him on both a personal and professional level.  These attributes, along with honesty and integrity are helping him achieve his life goal of positively impacting people’s lives as often as possible.

Mark resides in Mendon with his wife and two teenage sons.  He enjoys participating in his sons’ lives and activities, volunteering as a Baseball Coach, Ski Club Chaperone, and more recently as a CCD Teacher.  He made time in his hectic schedule to participate in several of the annual Cystic-Fibrosis Charity Walks held at Southwick’s Zoo; helping raise several hundred thousand dollars.  This successful grass roots fundraiser has now become a charity sponsored event.  In addition to lending support throughout the years to his wife Jo-Marie, a former Co-Chair of the event, he was inspired by his longtime friend whose two children suffer from the disease.

Mark’s strong, unparalleled work ethic began at a young age instilled by both his parents and grandparents, who lived next door.  As a child, he would rise early to help care for the animals on the family’s gentlemen’s farm.  Throughout high school and college, he was an enterprising person holding many jobs and starting several businesses.

It was no surprise that after working six years at a machine tool manufacturer and four years at an international consulting firm, Mark’s entrepreneurial spirit soared.  He started his own business during bad economic times and found a niche representing people and businesses with tax problems.  As an Enrolled Agent (Licensed by the United States Department of Treasury to prepare taxes and represent people before the Internal Revenue Service) Mark realized that in addition to tax assistance, he could still do more.  He developed a passion for helping his customers reach their financial goals.

Mark holds Securities, Investment Advisory, and Insurance Licenses and has attained the Certified Mutual Fund Specialist (CFS) Designation. He is currently a member of both the Massachusetts Society of Enrolled Agents (where he previously served on the Board of Directors), and the National Society of Enrolled Agents. Mark graduated from Bentley College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting.

A frequent speaker, Mark’s sense of humor, life long experiences, and unique “sayings” bring a breath of fresh air to his tax and financial planning presentations.

After his friend and business partner died suddenly, Mark was forced to do some soul searching.  Among his goals were to provide security to his partner’s family, to his employees, and to his clients.  He determined that merging with Shepherd & Goldstein would be beneficial to everyone.  Mark’s decision was a reflection of his core beliefs and values.
